Brief History of Homeopathy
In 1810, Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, a practicing German doctor, had discovered homeopathy.
Homeopathy has used since the 19th Century, in North America. It is also the second most popular system of medicine, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
In the United States of America, during the nineteenth century there were 100 hospitals and 22 medical colleges, which used homeopathy exclusively [1], and during this time, many orthodox doctors practiced homeopath [2].
One of these hospitals, was The Hahnemann University Hospital, established in 1885 in Philadelphia, PA. Thi hospital treated thousands of patients with homeopathy alone. Today the Hahnemann University Hospital still serves patients as a hospital and medical university, where patients receive traditional medical care.
Currently, homeopathy is practiced U.S.A., Europe, India and Africa, as a system of medicine. In Europe and India, there are private hospitals, which run and utilized traditional diagnostics and use homeopathic medicines to treat various ailments. Recently, in Canada, the province of Ontario has started to regulate the practice of homeopathy.

Homeopathy is not naturopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of medicine, and has its own set of philosophies and therapeutics for health, disease and in pre and postsurgical situations.
Nielsen Clinic's homeopathic doctors receive five years of training with similar clinical and theoretical courses as medical doctors. With over 4,500 homeopathic medicines, our homeopathic doctors have studied their applications for over 5 years in a clinical setting, arming themselves with an in-depth theoretical and clinical knowledge.
The differences in education and clinical training
Nielsen Clinic's homeopathic doctors are trained in medical and homeopathic sciences. Passing their exams which are similar to traditional medical school.
Our doctors have trained in a full-time (5 days a week) four and a half year curriculum which include daily clinical rotations and a six-month fellowship at an international medical hospital (Vinayaka Mission hospital). With over 4,500 homeopathic medicines, the ability to use homeopathic medicines will depend on the training, education and clinical skills received from years of training.
Naturopathy, on the other hand, does not use homeopathy as a system of medicine. In other words, a Doctor of Homeopathic Medicine is the specialist of homeopathy (homeopathic medicine).

There is also research that supports homeopathy is effective.
How fast do homeopathic medicines work?
Homeopathic medicines are not slow in helping individuals. For example, you have an acute condition such as cold sores, pneumonia, food poisoning, or flu-like symptoms, homeopathic medicines may provide relief and successful treat acute ailments.
In chronic conditions, most patients will see us after suffering for many years with their health ailment, and bring in files, reports and prescriptions, that they have been taking for years. Typically patients see results within 1-3 months of treatments.

Will my diet be restricted while I am receiving homeopathic treatment?
Food helps an individual's body repair tissues, cells and strengths the immune system. When an individual is healthy, the body has a natural ability to be able to obtain the nutrients it needs to function optimally.
However, if you have any sensitivities towards any foods, or cravings for specific foods (i.e. salty, sweets, fatty foods) you should mention this to your homeopathic doctor. Your doctor may be able to help you with this.

What are the areas in which homeopathy is ineffective?
Like all systems of medicine there are limitations in what can be cured. In advanced cases of cancer and AIDS homeopathy can't cure these cases however, in these cases homeopathy can offer palliative medicine.
Can homeopathy help in surgical disorders?
Homeopathy is not against surgery, as surgery is an vital part of. There are some conditions in which homeopathic treatment can be effective. Recurrent problems such as tonsillitis, hemorrhoids, kidney and gallbladder stones, small uterine fibroid, ovarian cysts, may be treated with homeopathic medicine.

Can homeopathy treat viral infections?

You may see your homeopathic doctor anytime you have a problem with your health. However, you should make sure you consult with a Nielsen Clinic doctor anytime you have a long-standing or more serious illness.

Are laboratory tests useful?
Medical diagnostic, test are useful, as they are useful in discovering other health concerns. With the tests we can also help an individual in prevention of any future reoccurrence, such as cysts, tumors, hernia.
